Come celebrate 17 years of outdoor opera and theatrical experiments! We’ll present our mini-opera, Windmills on Lake Street, outdoors at 7:00, then move inside for food, drinks, and music.
Mixed Precipitation artists offer musical updates of recent projects, including selections from Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West and Carmen as a true crime saga, and more flamenco dance! This new work-in-progress features Baritone Mark Bill and a suite of tunes inspired by Don Quixote, including music by Maurice Ravel and Ruperto Chapí y Lorente.
We are collaborating with choreographer Colette Illarde and dancer Amanda Dlouhy of Zorongo Flamenco. Instrumentals Ben Abrahamson on guitar and Jason Kornelis on cello mix art song and Spanish Zarzuela. Performers Maje Adams, Barbara Berlovitz, Ariel Donahue, Jada Windom, and the company dancers of Zorango bring the stories and poetry to life.
Du Nord Cocktail Room is located at 2700 East Lake Street. Mixed Precipitation provides music and tasty New Orleans-style bites from Lagniappe. Enjoy wine, beer, or a cocktail as you toast the summer season.
These performances are supported by Lake Street Lift, a program funded by Lake Street Council and the Graves Foundation. We’re grateful to celebrate and share art in this wonderful neighborhood.
