Prerequisite: None
This class is open to students who have just begun their flamenco journey or who are looking to brush up their skills. Students will learn to work with abanicos (fans) while learning choreography to the flamenco palo (style) of "Colombianas", which has Cuban influences and a four-beat compás (rhythm). Prerequisite: Intro to Flamenco, past Beginner One or higher, teacher permission
Basic flamenco dance techniques – body alignment, arms, footwork, and turns will be drilled and incorporated into lively choreography.

Performance: “The Conference of the Birds,” February 10th & 11th, The Cowles Center
In an enchanting performance conceptualized and brought to the stage by Susana Di Palma, artists come together to adapt the 12th century Persian poem of the same name. This dark, moving, and humorous story will bring together hip hop artist Darrius Strong, along with original music performed by guitarist Juanito Pascual, singer Alfonso Mogaburo Cid, and percussionist Jose Moreno.
