JUAN PEDRO JIMÉNEZ

Zorongo Flamenco is thrilled to welcome back Juan Pedro Jiménez as part of our Studio Concert Series. Experience an intimate, informal concert. His cante (song) will bring the power of his native Andalusia to our studio. What a fantastic opportunity to listen, learn and transport yourself to Spain.

Juan Pedro Jiménez, a native of Cádiz in the South of Spain, was raised performing with the gypsy family Romeros de Vejer.

A singer and guitarist, he studied music at the Royal Conservatory and learned from Flamenco singers Calixto Sánchez and Jose Anillo. Also, guitarists such as Victor Rosa, Tito Alcedo, and Rafael Segura Torres (Faluky). Since graduating from the Conservatory, Juan Pedro has worked with artists such as Toñi Romero, Susana Romero, Ana Polanco, Selu del Puerto, Maria del Mar Ramos, and Juanito Berrocal, and recently with Javier Heredia at Alegrías en la Nacional in New York City.

He also had the privilege of playing for the great flamenco dance teacher Carmen Cornejo de Cádiz for over ten years. He currently collaborates with NYC Flamenco artists and can be seen performing regularly in the Tri-State area.

In recent years, he has toured the Ferias in Sevilla, Jerez, El Puerto de Santa Maria, Sanlucar, Algeciras, and Cordoba, Spain. He has also played in El Rocio with the Hermandad de Jerez and in Peñas Flamencas and Festivals throughout the Province of Cádiz.

COVID-19 Policy (please read carefully)

Zorongo Flamenco does not require masks. However, students are welcome to wear masks, and Zorongo continues to supply one-time-use masks in the studio.

Zorongo no longer requires proof of vaccination (for all eligible to be vaccinated). However, if mandated for licensed businesses in the City of Minneapolis or the State of Minnesota, this policy is subject to change. 

Zorongo’s Board of Directors will continue monitoring, gathering data, and surveying students regarding COVID-19 and its status in Hennepin County and the City of Minneapolis. Thank you.
