ALL ABILITIES FLAMENCO
May 15 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
An event every week that begins at 9:30 am on Saturday, repeating until May 22, 2021
Instructor: Colette Illarde
Students can take the All Abilities class in a seated or standing position (adaptations made) and designed for every student to have an authentic flamenco experience. The class is structured so those with limited mobility, balance issues, or other disabilities can participate. Students are led through locomotor and non-locomotor movement combinations, and they connect to flamenco music, execute choreographies, enjoy improvisation and organic expression. The rhythm and exercises are invigorating, while games and stories keep the class fun and challenging. Students appreciate engaging and promoting community, celebrating flamenco culture, and gaining greater health and well-being.
Students will also do exercises during this four-week session using hands, arms, and upper body to increase range of motion and flexibility.
This is a hybrid class taught in-studio limited to six students and online using Zoom. $60 four-class session (minimum of four students preregistered* by 11:59 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021) and no drop-ins allowed in-studio. There are no refunds for missed classes.
